Scania Metrolink coaches delivered to National Travels

Commercial Vehicles India, a leading commercial vehicles and engines
manufacturer, has delivered Scania Metrolink coaches to National Travels in
Bangalore. Those present on the occasion
of delivery included Anders Grundstromer, Managing Director, Scania India and
Senior Vice President, Scania Group, N. T. Zameer Ahmed Khan, MLA Chamrajpet ,
Former Minister –Government of Karnataka and Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Managing
Partner, National Travels, Bangalore were part of the occasion.
Anders
Grundstromer said the association with National Travels, one of the leading
fleet operators in the state, is an affirmation to Scania’s commitment towards
providing sustainable transportation solutions in a large scale. He said Metrolink will address the grave
issues concerning passenger safety that are being faced at the moment. “In
addition, the superior fuel efficiency of the vehicle will contribute to
outstanding Total Operating Economy and will help in reducing CO2 emission as
well,” he added.
Headquartered
in Bangalore, National Travels offers wide range of bus services across major
cities such as Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. Scania Metrolink under National
Travels will service between Bangalore and Mumbai.
Launched
in February 2013, Scania Metrolink buses are packed with best in class safety
features such as black box, speed limit adhering to state regulations, six
emergency exits with twelve hammers, emergency doors and flight like safety
video to educate passengers on Do’s and Don’ts at the time of emergency, a
Scania press release said.

from study conducted on the needs of bus drivers and passengers plying on long
distance routes, all based on renowned Scania virtues such as robust design, maximum
passenger and driver safety, leading fuel economy and a long and trouble-free
service life
